3. Treating a preliminary result as the final answer
Rapid drug tests are designed to provide an initial screening result. A presumptive positive may require additional testing using a more specific analytical method, depending on the testing program and applicable requirements.
Employers should understand what happens after a non-negative screening result before implementing a testing program.
